About
Flamenco is once again dressed up on the Costa del Sol. Fuengirola is preparing to celebrate one of the most deeply-rooted and eagerly awaited events in its cultural calendar: the XLVIII Flamenco Festival 'El Jabegote', Integrated within the prestigious Patron Saint Festivities in honor of the Virgen del Rosario, this meeting celebrates almost half a century defending the purity and evolution of the flamenco art.
The event will take place on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, from 10:00 p.m., on the emblematic stage of the Palacio de la Paz. Faithful to its tradition, the festival presents in this forty-eighth edition a truly luxurious line-up that masterfully balances the top figures of the national scene with the indisputable talent of the artists of the land.
In the singing section, the great attraction of the night will be the acclaimed singer Israel Fernández, one of the most brilliant figures and with the greatest projection of contemporary flamenco, capable of rejuvenating the genre without losing an iota of its orthodox roots. Along with him, the veteran, the rhythm and the heartbreak will be provided by the voices of Paqui Corpas from Malaga and José García "José El Petro".
The guitar will be at the height of the throats thanks to the accompaniment of top-level guitarists, led by the mastery of Diego del Morao, in addition to the chords of Antonio Centenera and Carlos Haro. For its part, dance – a discipline that turns rhythm into pure visual expression – will be represented by Alicia Iranzo's Dance Academy and the overwhelming temperament of Juan Manuel Lucas' Flamenco Table.
