 On July 16, Fuengirola pays tribute to the Virgen del Carmen, patron saint of sailors, in one of the most important celebrations  in the calendar of the municipality. A religious and festive meeting in which thousands of people gather in a unique moment full of devotion n and seafaring feeling. 

The image that is venerated in the parish of Carmen, located next to the Parque de España, goes in procession through the streets of the city center accompanied by hundreds of neighbors, devotees and visitors who join this manifestation of faith and seafaring tradition. The day begins with religious services and the solemn main function in the temple, to continue in the afternoon with the processional departure of the image.
