The Romería del Rosario de Fuengirola is a festival of great tradition that is held annually in honour of the Virgen del Rosario, patron saint of the town. It is traditionally held on the Sunday before the start of the fair of the same name.

Joy and emotion fill this day of pilgrimage made up of traditional carts, horsemen, pilgrims and decorated vehicles. The celebration begins with the mass of pilgrims in the Parish of Nuestra Señora del Rosario Coronada and continues on a route that crosses iconic streets and squares. The itinerary ends in the park of El Esparragal, belonging to the municipality of Mijas.

A meeting of conviviality where local gastronomy, musical performances and a marked cultural character are present.

The day will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the Mass of Romeros in the parish of the Rosary. Then, the procession will depart for the park of El Esparragal, in Mijas, where it is scheduled to arrive around 1:15 p.m.

The route will pass through the Plaza de la Constitución, Avenida Condes de San Isidro, Calle Hermanos Pinzón, Avenida de Mijas, the Camino de Campanales, the Camino de Coín and the banks of the Fuengirola River.

Once in El Esparragal, attendees will be able to enjoy a day of coexistence with food and drink service managed by the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC). From 4:00 p.m. the musical group El Cenachero, led by Paco and Llina, will perform, which will offer two passes. Due to the time of year, it will be forbidden to light fires or barbecue.

The return of the Virgin of the Rosary to her parish will begin around 7:00 p.m., with arrival scheduled after the end of the novena.
