From 17 July to 28 August, the Manuel Delgado Perea House of Culture in Fuengirola is hosting the photographic exhibition 'Guadalquivires', a collective exhibition by Mercedes Higuero, Nuria Murillo and Paco Negre that invites visitors to travel, through photography, the course and history of the Guadalquivir River. 

Along its 657 kilometres, from the Sierra de Cazorla to its mouth in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, the Guadalquivir has witnessed more than thirty centuries of history. Known at different times as Tharsis or Betis, it retains the Arabic name of "The Rio Grande" and has been the axis of the development of numerous civilizations that left their mark in the form of cities, bridges, roads and engineering works.

Precisely, this historical, cultural and landscape legacy is the common thread of 'Guadalquivires', a project that brings together three different photographic views of the river. Through the objectives of Mercedes Higuero, Nuria Murillo and Paco Negre, the visitor will be able to discover the close relationship between the Guadalquivir and human beings, as well as the natural, architectural and historical wealth that accompanies its route.
